Coffee and cookies will be served. Everybody at Caltech and JPL is invited to attend!
The CPA is honored to have Dr. Beverly Berger, Program Director at NSF, to give a workshop about grant proposal writing. This workshop will emphasize things like deciding which NSF program to submit to, how to construct a proposal, how to find information, types of submissions, examples, etc. Every NSF program has its own "culture" and Dr. Berger will suggest ways to figure that out. Her insight should be very valuable for postdocs and young researchers from all divisions!
The workshop will have the following structure:
- Part 1:general scientific grant writing
- Part 2: NSF's preference on proposals
- Part 3: opportunities for postdocs, including fellowships for junior postdocs, and early-career grants for senior postdocs (especially those who are taking off to faculty positions) and junior faculty members.
- Part 4 - mini-social (5:00 to 5:30 pm): the audiences are encouraged to come up and talk with Dr. Berger while enjoying fresh coffee/cookies.
